Stavanger
Stavanger's pleasant and simple 1-storey hostel has a nice lakeside location 3km southwest of the city centre. Rooms are spartan but serviceable, although none are en suite; bathrooms are shared in the corridor. Guests have use of an outdoor swimming pool, sauna and gym nearby. Note that breakfast isn't included, and the hostel only opens in the summer months.
Bus 4 and X60 and a few other services stop nearby; get off at Ullandhaugveien.
