Tubakuba

Bergen

This forest cabin was built by architecture students using experimental wood-moulding techniques. Designed to help families with young children get back into nature, the cabin has no water or electricity but provides the shelter and warmth that a tent can’t. Bookings can be made through the Bergen Kommune office, where you also ‘check-in’ and pick up the keys.

It’s an easy walk here south-east of the Fløibanen funicular top station, and the site has the spectacular cliffside views you might imagine. Tubakuba is available in July and August for stays of one night only.
