Gradište Camping

Lake Ohrid

Gradište Camping is popular with city dwellers who keep cabins as summer houses – evenings are dedicated to barbecues and Macedonian music at top volume. Camping is in a prime spot on a hill on the western edge of the site, and the beach is nice and long. Gradište is on the road to Sveti Naum, about 16km south of Ohrid town.

The bathrooms are acceptable (hot water 7am to 11am and 7pm to 11pm) and there's a Macedonian restaurant for guests down on the waterfront. The over-water walkway that winds beneath the cliffs heading north, linking Gradište with lovely Orevche beach and a bar-restaurant, is great. In July and August the campsite can get quite lively with student parties down on the beach.
