Little Penang

Wellington

Wellington has a bunch of great Malaysian diners, but Little Penang, in a resolutely scrappy area near the bottom of Cuba St, steals the show with its fresh-flavoured, fiery street food. Order nasi lemak (a fragrant rice dish) with the good eggy, nutty, saucy stuff; or go for the bargain $9 roti bread with curry. The lunchtime rush can border on the absurd.
