Frontier

Three kilometres north of Haast township and attached to the Heartland Hotel, Frontier's menu of country pub classics seems all the better when perused in the log-lined bar-dining room, in front of an open fire. It's a pretty ordinary selection for these parts, such as lamb shank, blue cod and a few decent desserts, but it makes a change from Haast's main eatery, the Hard Antler.
