Hunger Monger

Top choice in Napier

Seemingly always busy when everywhere else is half-full, Hunger Monger is a funky seaside seafood diner with sheepskin-covered seats, quirky tablecloths and a hyperactive open kitchen in one corner. The menu swims from sashimi to chowder, then from fish tacos with lime and jalapeño to smoked-salmon risotto with buttered leeks. It's downright convivial.
