The beer has only had to journey up the stairs at this brewery-bar with 14 beers – Hefe weizen, pale ales, a porter – and ciders on tap amid faux-Alpine decor, complete with five cuckoo clocks. Try to nab one of the three balcony tables overhanging Tongariro St and dig into a wood-fired pizza ($14 to $28). Brewery tours run at 1pm (book ahead).
The brewery runs a trout-themed shop (open 10am to 4pm), where tour bookings can be made.
