Milford Sound Lodge

Milford Sound

Alongside the Cleddau River, 1.5km from the Milford hub (there's a free shuttle), this modern lodge is the only accommodation at the sound. It offers luxurious self-contained chalets with a lovely riverside setting. The forest-clad campervan area (no tents please) suits smaller budgets. There's a chic restaurant (mains $28 to $41) here, open to nonguests. Book far in advance for November to April.
