Part of an Indian chain of hostels, Zostel is a clean, comfortable and well-run place a stone's throw from Thamel. The thick comfortable mattresses, well-thought-out design (individual bed lights and electrical outlets) and services like bag storage and bus ticketing have made it the most popular hostel in the city.
Dorms have four to eight beds, with one female-only dorm; some dorms have en-suite bathroms, while others share a clean, spacious bathroom down the hall. There are fine mountain views from the rooftop bar and cube-shaped hammock. It's hidden down an alley off Paknajol Marg – look for the building-sized mural of the Kumari. Rates include tax.
