Yangon Bakehouse

Yangon

This admirable social enterprise serves delicious bakes, hearty sandwiches, fresh salads and good coffee, as well as various products to go such as Annie's yoghurts and locally made peanut butter.

The Bakehouse works with disadvantaged women who have fallen on hard times because of debt or family problems, some of them having resorted to sex work. It pays its trainees twice the going monthly wage as well as providing counselling and work skills.
