The rooms are luxurious, but the real star of this mammoth resort is the pool complex. Three outdoor pools (there's another one inside) swirl around palm trees and manicured slices of lawn leading down to the large chunk of beach that the hotel consumes. There’s also a kids club, lavish health and beauty spa and various spots to eat and drink.
In a smart – or cynical – move, the Splendid's attached Casino Royale was named after the James Bond film of the same name, which was purportedly filmed in nearby Petrovac. It wasn't, but that hasn't stopped punters looking to soak up a bit of 007's luck on the tables (or, ahem, otherwise).
