The lobby of this very central, very friendly hotel, here since 1939, is drop-dead gorgeous, with a spectacular stained-glass atrium. The 55 rooms have an aging grace, with wooden floors and high ceilings. Ask for one with plenty of windows, as some rooms can be dark.
The restaurant does Morelia’s swankiest Sunday brunch (mains from M$90), complete with made-to-order omelettes, platters of fresh tropical fruits and a groaning dessert table.
