This fabulous set-up might lack material luxury, but it's rich in jungle atmosphere. Comfortable, semi-open-air, wood-framed cabins with mosquito nets stand close to the tree-shrouded Río Lacanjá and are open to the sights and sounds of the forest and river. A separate group of larger rooms have two solid wooden double beds, tiled floors, fans and hot-water bathrooms.
As well as guided walks, rafting trips on the Río Lacanjá – which has waterfalls up to 2.5m high but no rapids – are offered for a minimum of four people. Set dinners cost M$100 and breakfast is M$85.
