Casa Alvarada

Top choice in Western Central Highlands

Casa Alvarada is a homey and very welcoming B&B run by English-speaking guide Júpiter Rivera and his wife Mara. The three rooms, one suite and a detached villa are themed and decorated with local folk art; the villa named after the painter Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo sleeps four and has its own kitchen.

Lavish breakfasts are served family-style, and the patio has a sumptuous hammock bed. The bathrooms have what must be the most powerful showers south of the border.
