Hotel Tajín

Top choice in Veracruz

The retro Tajín is an intrinsic part of the Papantla experience with a prime edge-of-zócalo location and a stone-arch-fringed pool and on-site restaurant. It's not a fancy hotel by any means, but the whole place oozes character. Rooms do vary though – best to request one on the upper floors, which get more natural light.
