The Mourouk Ebony waits at the end of a wiggling mountain road, and is easily recognised from afar by its bright-orange roofing. The grounds feature gorgeous gardens full of orchids and wildflowers that abut the rather lovely beach. The rooms are a little like Rodrigues itself: occasionally stylish, more often rustic and slightly faded.
Gentle Creole beats waft over the lobby's hand-dyed wicker lounge chairs.
