Gemalai is a complex of six kampung huts built on stilts over the paddy fields at Laman Padi. The traditionally styled rooms are comfortable and well equipped, and the bathrooms are partially open-air. An excellent Malay breakfast is served in your room.
Although the name Gemalai refers to the Bahasa Malaysia word for a gentle breeze that whispers across the paddy, light sleepers should beware that the huts’ thin walls and close proximity to a road, as well as roosters and buffalo, might make their stay a little less than peaceful.
