Resembling an English country mansion improbably plonked next to a main road, Indulgence has a set of individually decorated rooms, from rococo to antique Chinese in style (we liked the chic, Italianate 'Giulianna' room). Rooms are showing signs of age, but unique decor and gourmet extras, including upmarket European-style breakfasts, make it one of Ipoh's more interesting places to stay.
Though it appears only a 10-minute walk from the Parade mall, it's a pedestrian-unfriendly route; better to drive or get a taxi.
Meals at the restaurant downstairs are pricey for what you get, but it's worth stopping in for the homemade breads and pastries.
