Clearwater Sanctuary

Ipoh

With a focus on golf, fishing and bird-watching, this resort is a carefully sculpted fresh-air idyll, 20 minutes' drive south of Ipoh. Its wooden chalets, in a contemporary style, overlook an artificial lake. Guests busy themselves on the 18-hole golf course, or spotting purple heron preening in the reeds. Activities include badminton, angling and swanning around in a Jacuzzi.

Clearwater is 5km northeast of Batu Gajah (15km south of Ipoh); it's best to have your own car.
