This flashpacker hostel has a minimalist feel but there's no strong Japanese connection, just spic and span dorms (mixed and female-only) painted in muted greys, each bed with its own USB and plug sockets. There are also (expensive for what you get) private rooms, beanbag-strewn chill zones, plus a TV room, reading spaces and a convivial bar.
Private rooms with their own bathrooms have the same vibe – yet, lacking windows and space, feel overpriced.
