One of Melaka's great bargains, this well-loved banana-leaf restaurant has helpful and efficient staff. Generous servings of aromatic chicken biryani are eclipsed by the vegetarian offerings, in particular the Friday-afternoon veggie special. Selvam is also an excellent stop for a breakfast dosa (paper-thin rice-and-lentil crepes) or idli (savoury, soft, fermented-rice-and-lentil cakes).
