This ecolodge is a rarity in Antsirabe, an island of nature on the edge of the city. The owner's passion is gardening and you'll find numerous species of plant in the themed gardens as well as all the chirpy birds they attract. The brick bungalows are pretty, spacious and very comfortable with splashes of subtle Malagasy art.
Tasty evening meals (Ar38,000 for three courses) are available through the April to November tourist season.
The hotel doesn't just accept human guests but also animal guests. As well as the birds attracted to the gardens at the centre of the property, a huge pond is home to lots of amphibians and the managers have installed a large insect 'hotel'.
