In an old, colourful colonial building, Hôtel du Menabe offers some simple, airy rooms with huge double beds. Most have bathrooms and all are kept clean. The hotel is run by a friendly Frenchman, Bruno, and there's a great atmosphere, notably in the evenings when the dining room fills with travellers swapping stories.
There's a 1940s-era film projector in the restaurant, where you can get sandwiches (Ar12,000 to Ar17,000), pizza (from Ar15,000) as well as a range of international and Malagasy dishes (mains Ar13,000 to Ar25,000).
