There are loads of great restaurants in Beirut, but there's only one that commands the respect of every farmer, chef and foodie in the country – and that's Tawlet. Showcasing farm-fresh (often organic) produce and providing a venue where traditional recipes can be tested and sampled, this chic eatery offers a daily lunch buffet (detailed online) cooked by a visiting chef.
To find it, head east along Rue Armenia. Tawlet is the end of the alley behind the Anthurium flower shop, on the northern side of the road. They also run cooking classes and all manner of other foodie things; check the website.
