Baba Guesthouse

Top choice in Don Det & Don Khon

This solid guesthouse looks out at the Mekong on one side, and emerald paddy fields on the other. The price is a bit above average for this area, but you get more for your money here. Rooms are sleekly white and almost luxurious, with private balcony, tasteful decor, mosquito net and spotless bathroom. There's also an attached restaurant (open 7am to noon).

The terraced restaurant over the river is as classy as the guesthouse and is a great breakfast spot. The owners are the perfect hosts. They offer steep discounts in low season.
