Carakale Brewery

Amman

Jordan doesn't sound like the place where you can drink at a local microbrewery, but you can at Fuheis just outside Amman, where Carakale have opened a bar to taste their ales on site. Inside, tables overlook the brewing floor, but it's nicer to sit on terrace to catch the sunset across the valley.

There's a barbecue, so you can bring your own picnic. It's all rather unassuming from the outside – if you think you end up driving downhill to an unmarked factory, you are. You'll also need your own transport, so plan for arguments about who's going to be the designated driver.
