Sarwa Street Kitchen is a chill place to loiter with a quiet coffee, juice, meal or beer. The kitchen offers a range of freshly prepared dishes, from homemade pizzas and burritos to Palestinian favourites such as makloubeh (chicken, rice, vegetables and spices cooked together and turned 'upside down'), as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
Mo, the owner, is happy to make recommendations (the kunafeh with ice cream is a favourite of his), share advice and talk about his family's history, including the fact that his father owned a travel agency in the 1960s located in the same spot. Hours can be irregular; he closes up shop around 8.30pm if he has no customers.
