Housed in an atmospheric old wooden rice-store building, Pax Hostel is hidden away from the buzzing neon in Shin-Sekai. Dorms have coloured wooden bunk beds, a privacy curtain, a light, a charger and a security box. The downstairs cafe-record store is a chilled place to hang out, and serves great coffee and bahn mi (Vietnamese bagette).
There's bicycle hire (¥500 per day) too.
