Around since 1885, Funahashi-ya has long been a popular stop to pick up Japanese rice crackers (known as o-kaki in Kyoto) and its signature go-shiki-mame 'five coloured beans' – dried green pea sweets coated in sugar flavours from plum to cinnamon. The traditional wooden shop is on the west bank of the Kamo-gawa at the end of the Sanjō bridge next to Starbucks.
