Starlight Chalet

Kingston, Blue Mountains & the Southeast Coast

This plantation-style retreat is set amid a flower-filled hillside garden with wonderfully dramatic alpine vistas. It's a great base for birding and hiking, and nature walks are offered. Spa retreats are normally available, but the spa was closed for renovation when we visited. The in-house Bleuberg Restaurant offers good Jamaican dishes (mains around J$2000).

Off-season, you’ll mostly have the place to yourself, though it's popular at weekends for weddings.
