This excellent hostel occupies a 13th-century monastery complete with a frescoed refectory where breakfast is served. Airy rooms overlook the cloisters and have good beds and bathrooms; dorms sleep five. Breakfast (for those in dorms) costs €7. It's 1km from the centre of Volterra. Local bus 1 from Piazza Martiri della Libertà stops right outside the entrance (€1.50).
Reception is open 7am to 1pm and 3pm to 8pm.
