There are no top-end or boutique hotels in the centre of Volterra, so the recent opening of this small three-star establishment close to the Porta all'Arco is to be applauded. Though it doesn't deserve its self-claimed boutique label, the rooms are pleasant and have bathrooms so clean they gleam. Guests rave about the quality of the breakfast.
