Antica Locanda dei Mercanti

Milan

This boutique B&B doesn't have a sign out the front, making it feel like you're visiting a friend's place. What it does have is lots of character in its 15 individually decorated, flower-filled rooms. While the Classic and Master rooms are fine, the four Terrace rooms (each with their own private balcony) are the pick of a lovely bunch.

Next door, at number 8, Alle Meraviglie is run by the same people.
