Ask any local buongustaio (foodie) where to get the best cornetto (croissant) and chances are you'll get directed to this modern, piazza-side cafe. In-house pasticcero (pastry chef) Vincenzo Malafronte makes them fresh in a style closer to the flaky French version than the brioche-like concoctions usually sold in Italy. Even the heavenly crema pasticcera (custard) filling is made from scratch.
The cafe also serves gorgeous, velvety ice cream, including a standout salted caramel flavour. The cappuccinos here are great (soy milk available) and there's usually live jazz on Friday nights. It's in Piano, four minutes from Sorrento by train.
