Parco Archeologico dei Sesi

Pantelleria

This archaeological site on Pantelleria's northwestern coast preserves the remains of several mound-shaped Megalithic stone necropolises known as sesi. Dating back to around the second millennium BC, and unique to Pantelleria, most of the sesi have been reduced to piles of rubble, but the largest (Sese Grande, or Sese del Re) remains intact and makes an evocative sight.
