Babington's Tea Rooms

Tridente, Trevi & the Quirinale

Founded in 1893 by two English women, these tea rooms were an instant hit with the hordes of English tourists in Rome desperate for a decent cup of tea. Little has changed in the ensuing century and Babington's pots of leaf tea (China, India, Ceylon and herbal), cream teas and dainty finger sandwiches remain its unique selling point.

The high-tea menus are pricey, but it's perfectly acceptable to order one along with an extra cup of tea and share between two people.
