Brave the queue and try to bag one of Augusto's tables outside on the piazza and tuck into some fabulous mamma-style cooking on one of Trastevere's prettiest terraces. Hearty portions of Roman classics are dished up including lots of rabbit, veal, hare and pajata (calf intestines). Winter dining is around vintage Formica tables in a bare-bones interior, unchanged for decades. Cash only.
Note: the toilets are primitive at best.
