Established in 1880, this vast temple to gelato is now operated by the founder's great-grandson, Andrea Fassi. Choose from myriad flavours of gelato, or opt for an iced dessert instead – the tronchetto (ice-cream cake), cassata, Sanpietrino (a semifreddo of zabaglione, coffee, nuts and chocolate) and tramezzini (ice-cream wafer 'sandwiches' filled with Sanpietro) deserve special mention.
