At the Via Toledo entrance to Galleria Umberto I, this tiny takeaway vendor is widely considered the queen of the sfogliatella. Usually still warm from the oven, it's available in riccia (filo-style pastry) and frolla (shortcrust pastry) forms, both defined by a perfect balance of textures and flavours.
Mary's counter also offers other classic treats, including spongey, rum-soaked babà. Note that the kiosk is usually also open on Mondays in May and December.
