A neighbourhood icon since 1958, this tiny family-run shop and deli draws gourmands from near and far, who fawn over the delectable cheese counter (over 50 varieties!) plus antipasti, biscotti, olive oils, jams, candies and chocolates. The old-fashioned storefront (with artfully arranged displays) adds to the allure.
Carlo Petrini, one of the founders of the Slow Food movement, dedicated a chapter of his book Gente di Piemonte to the work of Romola and her sister Marta, who started Latteria Bera over 70 years ago. Today Romola's granddaughter is at the helm.
