La Selvotta

Castelli Romani

With communal wooden tables under centuries-old chestnut trees, this open-air fraschetta is a halfway-house between a picnic site and a trattoria. There's a limited menu of pasta and steak but the real reason you're here is for the porchetta, bread and hams they serve out of the central hatchway (go up, pay, and take to your table).

It's hugely popular in summer, so arrive early or be prepared to wait.
