Boboli & San Miniato al Monte

Born out of a project to class up the Arno's riverbanks, this riverside kiosk – a romantic, wrought-iron structure in San Niccolò that wouldn't look out of place in Paris – is a local institution with young Florentines seeking al fresco snacks. As much summertime bar as street-food outlet, it's a chilled spot for homemade burgers, hot dogs, steaming bowls of tripe and panini.

Come summer, a sandy urban beach pops up down by the water by the kiosk – perfect for quaffing cocktails (€6 to €10) and enjoying the various art happenings, DJ sets, dance parties and soirées.
