Rimini

FOB, named after the Foam on Beer draught head control system installed above its 34 taps (pints €5 to €6.50), is one of Emilia-Romagna's most visually impressive craft-beer drinking dens. It has a long hardwood bar, denim-covered bar seats, and its larger, orange-slathered room comes with chapel-like windows stained not with glass but with colourful beer cans from around the world.

The no-samples rule is mystifying, but the long list of draughts – mainly Italian, English, Belgian and Scandinavian – do not disappoint. It's within striking distance of Arco di Augusto.
