Bologna

Just 400m across the bridge in Bolognina, this former neighbourhood furniture shop was transformed by cool kids into one of the city's best cocktail bars. Excellent Americanos (Campari, sweet vermouth and club soda) lead the way and, along with four craft beers on draught and select wines, lure an in-the-know bohemian crowd.

It sits just far enough outside Bologna's ring road to stay under the tourist radar and pairs triumphantly with dinner next door at Trattoria di Via Serra.
