Jaffa’s East West House offers curated live music experiences that are set inside the former Ottoman-era villa of Jaffa’s primary doctor. A more low-key venue that Tel Aviv’s other music halls, Thursday evening concerts take place on a stage under pointed archways and occasionally spill out to the garden, under century-old Jaffa orange trees.
The audience here tends to include discerning artists and the musically savvy who are in search of more unusual performances in an intimate venue. The house is as much an attraction as the music: look for colourful floor tiles (with a different pattern in every room), arabesque archways and the colonnaded porch.
