Secluded in a picturesque patch of woodland 4.3km southeast of Derry, this wonderfully atmospheric 18th-century manor house is surrounded by magnificent gardens and steeped in history – it was a WWII base for US marines, and former US president Bill Clinton stayed here several times. All 30 rooms incorporate Georgian-era colours and furnishings. The lake-view restaurant is excellent.
