Kalut Ecolodge is marginally the most charming of half a dozen closely grouped homestays in Shafiabad village, thanks in part to friendly hostess Sekina Hajiabadi, who can speak a few words of English. There's a small, tree-shaded yard, a large communal sitting area around the kitchen and bedrooms are cleaner than average, though don't expect too much.
As you turn into Shafiabad it's the first place on the right – look for the Iranian flags painted on the earthen garden-wall columns. (Note that across the road is a competitor that also calls itself Kalut.)
