German-speaking tour guide Jalal has poured his heart into restoring his classically styled ancestral home to create an appealing little guesthouse. The two bigger rooms have 80cm-thick walls but others are tucked into curious recesses; the 'dormitory' means a pair of domed cellar pod-rooms. There's a pleasant courtyard with twin pines, a shared kitchen and several sparkling new bathrooms.
It's located 1km west of the bazaar. Take Motahari St to Mohallah Pizzeria, then follow Motahari 60th Alley winding round behind the Fatemiyeh Garden, thereafter passing several ruined mud-walled buildings amid many taller new constructions.
