Brainchild of young Tehrani adventurers, this lodge nestled in the verdant Ramsar hinterland provides cultural, musical, gastronomic and adventure activities for all ages. Run on sound environmental principles, Gileboom offers traditional guesthouse accommodation (on roll-up mattresses) as well as a separate self-contained cottage. Look for the Shohada St turnoff from the Caspian Hwy about 16km northwest of Ramsar, just past Chaboksar.
The lodge is a fantastic place to sample the deliciously varied and seasonal Gilan cuisine. Tours (from IR300,000) include farm visits, fruit and tea picking, peak bagging, overnight treks and swimming in the Caspian.
