Meymand Guesthouse

Southeastern Iran

Eight of Meymand's old cave-rooms have been equipped with clean bedding, tree-branch shelving, heater and lamps for overnight stays. Yet with namad and carpets on uneven floors and smoke-blackened rock ceilings it's easy to be transported to another time. The communal village toilets are nearby (with a sit-down toilet in the women's).

The guesthouse is on the western side of the village. Just across the stream from the main village a sign says 'Reception' but in reality it's rarely staffed, so call ahead, especially if you plan to arrive late. Pricing can vary considerably so agree to the rate in advance.
